Neftaly: Empowering Youth Through Sports for Civic Engagement
Neftaly (Southern Africa Youth Project) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating youth unemployment and poverty through education, skills development, and community engagement. Established in 2005, Neftaly operates across Southern Africa, with regional offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg, and Diepsloot.
Recognizing the transformative power of sports, Neftaly integrates athletic activities into its programs to promote civic engagement among youth. Through sports, young individuals learn essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline, which are crucial for active participation in their communities.
Neftaly’s initiatives encourage youth to take on leadership roles, volunteer in community service projects, and engage in activities that promote social responsibility. By fostering a sense of belonging and purpose, these programs inspire young people to contribute positively to their communities and become proactive citizens.
Through its sports-based programs, Neftaly not only develops athletic skills but also cultivates a generation of youth committed to civic engagement and community development.
