May 2030 marked a month of continued growth for the Neftaly–DBSA partnership. Building on earlier 2030 initiatives, this period focused on scaling education programs, supporting community entrepreneurship, and advancing sustainable infrastructure projects. This report summarizes key achievements, financial contributions, challenges, and future strategic directions.
Strategic Priorities
The partnership maintained its focus on four pillars:
- Education & Digital Skills – preparing youth for opportunities in the digital economy.
- Community Empowerment – fostering entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and social well-being.
- Infrastructure & Sustainability – implementing renewable energy, ICT, and water access projects.
- Regional Development Alignment – ensuring initiatives support DBSA’s broader Southern African development goals.

- Education & Skills Development
- Trained 3,000 young people in cybersecurity, AI, and digital entrepreneurship.
- Expanded the Neftaly Virtual Academy to 15,000 active learners.
- Awarded 820 scholarships to students from underserved communities.
- Community Development & Entrepreneurship
- Supported 1,000 small businesses, with 61% led by women and youth.
- Delivered financial literacy and business management workshops to 1,700 participants.
- Conducted healthcare and nutrition programs reaching 5,800 individuals.
