Neftaly: Creating Community Choirs Performing National Sports Anthems
???? Vision
Neftaly, the Southern Africa Youth Project, is dedicated to empowering youth across Southern Africa by providing skills development, education, and economic opportunities. Established in 2005, Neftaly operates with regional offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg, and Diepsloot. The organization recognizes the power of music in fostering unity and national pride. By creating community choirs that perform national sports anthems, Neftaly aims to celebrate the achievements of athletes and inspire collective spirit among communities.
???? Neftaly’s Community Choir Initiatives
1. Formation of Local Choirs
Neftaly establishes community choirs composed of youth from various backgrounds. These choirs are trained to perform national sports anthems, such as the South African national anthem, during significant sporting events and community gatherings. This initiative not only promotes musical talent but also instills a sense of national pride and unity.
2. Collaborations with Schools and Cultural Institutions
Neftaly partners with schools and cultural institutions to identify and nurture young vocal talents. Through workshops and training sessions, Neftaly enhances the musical skills of participants, preparing them to perform national sports anthems at various events. These collaborations provide a platform for youth to showcase their abilities and contribute to community cohesion.
3. Community Performances and Events
Neftaly organizes community events where the choirs perform national sports anthems, celebrating local and national sporting achievements. These performances serve as a source of inspiration and pride for the community, reinforcing the role of sports in uniting people across different backgrounds.
???? Call to Action
Neftaly invites individuals, schools, and cultural institutions to collaborate in creating and promoting community choirs that perform national sports anthems. Together, we can harness the power of music to celebrate sporting achievements and foster unity across Southern Africa.
