At Neftaly – Southern Africa Youth Project, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of sports officials and referees. Training young individuals in officiating not only enhances their leadership and decision-making skills but also contributes to the overall development of youth sports in our communities.

1. Foundational Training

Our program begins with comprehensive workshops that cover the fundamentals of sports officiating, including:

  • Rules and Regulations: Understanding the specific rules of the sport.
  • Positioning and Movement: Learning optimal positioning during gameplay.
  • Decision-Making: Developing quick and fair decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Effective use of signals and verbal communication.

2. Mentorship and Practical Experience

3. Certification and Advancement

Upon completing the foundational training and mentorship phases, participants have the opportunity to obtain certification through accredited bodies such as the South African Football Association (SAFA).
