    January 2017 opened a new chapter in the deepening partnership between Neftaly and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). Following successful pilot activities in late 2016, this month focused on reinforcing program structures, scaling interventions, and refining monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to enhance impact tracking.


    2. Key Milestones Achieved

    a. Program Expansion

    • Rolled out Neftaly–DBSA Youth Empowerment programs in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, reaching 5 new communities.
    • Established 2 mobile community centers offering ICT access, basic services support, and entrepreneurship mentoring.

    b. Skills Development & Training

    • Launched a 12-week vocational training cycle in collaboration with local training providers, targeting:
      • Solar installation
      • Small-scale farming
      • Business administration
    • 452 participants enrolled; 67% female, emphasizing inclusive development.

    c. Job Placement Support

    • Developed partnerships with 6 local employers in construction and retail sectors.
